sounding spudding
HEY!!
I got inspired and wrote a poem today!! I haven't done one of those for ages!! It came from when I was reading a book called "Your God is Too Safe," by Mark Buchanan... Enjoy!

Eat
A college professor stood before his class each day,
Sharing special tidbits of what he’d heard God say.
Encouraged students marveled at the richness of his words.
Many knew from their time spent there that their faith was assured.
You are what you eat!
And that may not sound quite right –
You eat the Word of God,
Meditating day and night,
Getting to know Him,
And living in His light
With power and courage
To show His might.
One day the professor stood before the class and read
A letter from a student, and this is what it said,
“Dear Doctor Bockmuehl, It’s all because of you!
Those devotionals kept my faith alive! I wanted to thank you.”
There was no hint of flattery from this tribute he had read.
He quickly put the letter down. He looked at us and said,
“Why did MY devotionals feed him and not his own?
He needed to read the Word of God and not eat bread alone!”
It’s strange that in the age of today
We have Bibles by the plenty.
But we don’t devour, we just nibble
With hardly any study!
You are what you eat!
And that may not sound quite right –
You eat the Word of God,
Meditating day and night,
Getting to know Him,
And living in His light
With power and courage
To show His might.
